Tobermory 21 YO
Tobermory Distillery
Isle of Mull, Single Malt Scotch
53.8% ABV/107.6 Proof
21 YO in Manzanilla Sherry Cask
Eye: Amber honey, medium rim and legs.
Nose: Oloroso sherry, tons of dried figs, dates, and chocolate. Some spices, especially cinnamon. Raisins, too.
Palate: Same as the nose, plus some nuttiness. Dried fruit and chocolate all over, with grape sweetness towards the end. Mouthfeel is coating and viscous, carrying the chocolate covered cherries everywhere in your mouth.
Finish: Finish is long and continues the chocolate and dried fruit party with a bit of orange zest. Keeps going and going.
Overall: Each part is great, but the finish is mind-blowing. This is easily one of the best Scotches I’ve ever had, even if it leans towards dessert.
