Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Bourbon: Tasting Notes
Eye: Maple syrup, medium rim and slow syrupy legs.
Nose: Strong caramel and vanilla, minimal heat. Roasted peanuts appear after air and a few sips.
Palate: A very nice heat that carries strawberries and roasted peanuts, especially the skins. Chewing emphasizes the fruit and nut mix and elevates the red fruits into dominance above the nuts. Mouthfeel is a little light but coating and builds.
Finish: Medium-to-long, great Beam flavors. Becomes sweeter as you sip.
Overall: This is an amazing KC pick. It’s not as nutty as a Booker’s, let’s say, and is well-balanced on the sweet-heat spectrum. Red fruits emerging on the back end add complexity and make my mouth water.
