Bourbon Heritage Month 2020 Day 27: Breckenridge Port Cask Bourbon
Breckenridge Port Cask Bourbon
Breckenridge Distillery
40% ABV/80 Proof
NAS, Aged in 59-Gallon Tawny Port casks for 4-6 months.
Eye: Cognac. Thin rims and legs.
Nose: Wine and grapes - the finish leads this for sure.
Palate: Very sweet at first until the bourbon notes take over. Mouthfeel is a little thin but coats the mouth.
Finish: Finish is short-to-medium, sweetness takes over again.
Overall: I want to try this at barrel strength. The flavors are great but the lower proof detracts in the mouthfeel.
