Old Bones Bourbon Batch 4

Old Bones Bourbon Batch 4

53.4% ABV/106.8 Proof

11+YO, Distilled June 2006, Bottled Oct. 2016 at MGP

Eye: Orange blossom honey, medium rim and droplet legs.

Nose: Buttery nuttiness, some orange zest. Floral, just a bit of heat. Berries emerge with some air.

Palate: Lots of fruit - super strong berries, blackberries especially. Roasted peanuts in the shell. Some heat remains but it is well-balanced and carries the flavors. Peanut butter clarifies towards the end. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, coating, not too oily.

Finish: Strawberries at first, then dark chocolate comes in. Medium length.

Overall: Delicious, another great batch if not as great as Batch 2. Still balanced and easily drinkable.

2 | Poor | Forced myself to drink it (Buckshee Bourbon and Rye)

1 | Disgusting | Drain pour (Virginia Distilling Co. Cider Cask)
