Deanston Signatory Vintage 2007

Deanston Signatory Vintage 2007

64.5% ABV/129 Proof

12+ YO, 1st Fill Sherry Butt

Cask 900142, Bottle 138/638

Distilled 6/14/2007, Bottled 2/12/2020

Eye: Orange honey, medium rim and droplet legs.

Nose: Unlike any nose I’ve had before…Maybe floral? It’s just unusual and I can’t quite put my finger on it. Some smoke and spring fruits, too.

Palate: White pepper and malty sweetness with an undercurrent of orange zest. I love the pepperiness on this! It’s spicy without numbing. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, coating, and evaporative.

Finish: Long, with orange zest, candied peel, and chocolate.

Overall: The nose is odd, but the palate and finish are quite nice.
