Glenfarclas 25 Year Old
Glenfarclas 25 Year Old Scotch Whiksy
Glenfarclas 25 YO
Highland
43% ABV, 86 Proof
Eye: Burnished gold. Medium rim and syrupy legs.
Nose: Apple, light orchard fruit that bounces out of the glass.
Palate: A bit of oak, then a full-on orchard walk: fruit, wood, a little grass, and a hint of char smoke at the end. Sweetness tapers towards the end. Oily, coating, and medium-bodied.
Finish: Drying apples and smoke.
Overall: The oak gives a lovely drying note, but of the three (15, 21, and 25) I still lean towards the Glenfarclas 15. The Glenfarclas 25 feels a little too oaky to be fully balanced, even if its good overall.
